Fiberglass Window Screen
Fiberglass Window Screen is rust and corrosion resistant, fireproof (at cigarette temperature), wont stretch or shrink and resists impact. Fiberglass Window Screen is also available in a variety of meshes and colors. Like aluminum, standard meshes are 18x16 and the two most popular colors are silver gray and charcoal. Fiberglass screening is also available in a fine-woven 20x20 mesh used primarily in coastal areas where very tiny flying insects (no-see-ums) are a problem. For large areas such as pool enclosures, a strong 18x14 mesh is also available. Some meshes and colors of fiberglass are also available on special order in 78" and 84" widths.
Our fiberglass window screen is different with various traditional window screen.
It is PVC coated fiberglass mesh wove by fiberglass yarn. The most advantage of it is flame retardent.
Being plain woven by PVC coated glass fiber yarn, it has many good characteristic as following:
1. Such as breath freely, sunlight proof, ultraviolet radiation proof, 2. Corrosion resistance, acid and alkali resistance,
3. Low coefficient of heat expansion and shrink
4. Steady hole size, straight in warp and weft, long lifetime, easy to wash
It is widely used for air exchange and insect proof in building, aslo in architecture field for example, garden, vegetable shed, etc.
Application scope:
The mesh is chiefly used in the home for insect preventing purpose, but you can also find it creatively used in pastures, orchards and gardens. Even it has found its way into such fields as transportation, industry, health care, civil service, and construction.
Colors of the Products: Grey, Black, White, Green, Yellow and Grayish White.
Fiberglass screening (glass fiber screen), is made of glass fiber by the means of filament plastic-coating process. Fiberglass screen is plain woven then going through high temperature-fixing.

Screen is available in a variety of materials, but aluminum and fiberglass are by far the most common. Specialty screening includes extra-heavy pet-resistant screen; screen that blocks as much as 90% of solar-heat gain; and noncorroding bronze, monel (an alloy of nickel and copper), or stainless steel for coastal installations.
Standard door and window screen has a mesh size of 18x16, indicating that there are 18 strands per inch in one direction and 16 in the other. This screen can be used on a porch, but a mesh size of 18x14 uses a slightly larger-diameter wire, is stronger, and spans larger openings. If your area is plagued by tiny biting insects (sometimes called “no-see-ums” by their victims), 20x20 mesh may be a better choice.
How to Replace a Fiberglass Screen
Screens get damaged and it becomes necessary to replace them. Even fiberglass screening, which is one of the durable of screening materials, can't stand up to everything, especially the damage that children and pets can dish out. Fortunately, the project is an easy one and anyone can do this simple repair. Whether it's a screen door or window, it should only take about a half an hour to replace the screen.
Step 1Place the screen frame on a flat surface. Use a flat head screwdriver to pry up the spline. Pull out the rest of the spline from the window. Take out the old screen and discard it.
Step 2Clean out the groove. Use a toothbrush to brush out any dirt or debris that may be in the groove, or the new spline may not stay in place.
Step 3Lay the new screening out over the frame and cut to one inch larger than the frame, all the way around. Center the piece of screen over the frame.
Step 4Cut the corners of the screen at a 45 degree angle, just outside the spline groove. Using the convex end of the splining roller, insert the sides of the screen and then the top and bottom.
Step 5Place the spline in one corner of the frame over the screen and use the concave side of the roller to insert the spline all the way around. Cut the end of the spline off and tuck it in back at the beginning.
Step 6Place the utility knife on the outside of the spline and cut away the extra screening material. Replace the screen.
