Steellong offers a variety of high precision grinding parts by the machining process. All standard machining processes are performed such as milling, drilling, boring, grinding, and turning. Additionally, we are specialized in double disc grinding and laser welding. Each part is manufactured on our state of the art CNC Milling and Turning Centers. Secondary operations like drilling, tapping, heat treatment and surface plating are also done in-house. Equipped with CNC turning centers and CNC machining centers for both horizontal and vertical requirements, Steellong is fully outfitted to meet the most demanding specifications with accuracy and cost effectiveness.

Our precision grinding operations are used for diameter reduction, tapers and shoulder creation on tube and wire components. Grinding can sometimes provide a better result than Wire EDM cutting. Profile Grinding processes are great at producing precise, burr-free cuts on hard metals.

We use a low-force process to grind a variety of materials for flatness, parallelism, close tolerance dimensions and surface finish.

Milling and Turning
CNC milling at high speed is often the first step, before EDM machining, in the production of precision metal parts.  CNC milling is especially appropriate for the machining of 3-dimensional contour metal parts.  Milling makes complex profiles on block-style metal parts.  Turning provides similar capabilities on cylindrical parts. Our experienced machinists will face, square, drill, thread, bore or slot parts with the highest levels of precision and repeatability.

Benefits of centerless grinding include abilities to remove material to accurate specifications. The ability to grind parts with complicated geometries, the ability to grind a large number of parts and the ability to maintain tolerance.

Centerless grinding is a method of material removal through grinding. It is similar to centered grinding. In centerless grinding, however, there is no spindle. This is a high capacity method of material removal. Many parts can be ground quickly.

There are two wheels on a centerless grinder. The wheels are rotated in the same direction. The workpiece is set up inside the regulating wheel and the grinding wheel. The workpiece is supported by a work rest. The work rest is located between the wheels. The work is placed upon the work rest. The regulating wheel spins and forces the work against the grinding wheel.

Centerless grinding is classified into two types : through feed grinding, for which the workpiece is fed into the machine along the work rest and plunge grinding for which the workpiece is placed between the wheels on a work rest with the grinding wheel plunging into the workpiece.
