Bronze Insect Screen is made of 90% copper 10% zinc. It weathers to a beautiful dark bronze finish. The bronze insect screen is most frequently used in wood screen doors, not only for its longevity, but for its aesthetic appeal. Bronze insect screen is used in the restoration of antique home windows and door screens and in high-end trophy homes and ship port holes. Also suitable for casement window screens and other wood screens. May not be suited for use in aluminum frames.

How to choose the insect screening

Bronze mesh is the color of a bright penny when first woven. It will gradually patina to a dark brown. In an outdoor environment, this discoloration will become pronounced as soon as six months at the seashore and longer in drier conditions. This is the most popular insect screening that we sell.

Copper mesh is the least durable of our insect screens. It will gradually patina to a green verdigris.

Stainless steel insect screen is physically the strongest and most corrosion resistant with almost an unlimited life. Stainless steel insect screen is used around marine and other corrosive environments.

Since the color of bronze and copper mesh are affected by the atmosphere, we try to package carefully to protect the color as much as possible but we still cannot guarantee a uniformed, brilliant polished finish when you receive it.
