Woven Metal Wire Cloth is also called metal filter cloth or woven metal cloth has been used for filtration for more than 100 years. Metal filter cloth excels in giving problem-free processing and is easily cleanable with excellent durability. In addition to superior mechanical strength, metal filter cloth possesses a higher beat stability than any other material. It shows an extremely high resistance to physical and chemical effects. Metal filter cloth is thus an ideal filter medium which can be easily worked and styled using available techniques. In addition to the socalled open wire weaves with square or rectangular openings which can be woven down to a fineness of 20 ハm aperture, there are many combinations of filter weaves with retention in the micron range which is called Micron filter cloth.
Woven wire cloth specifications are exact geometrical structures with uniform porosity, in contrast to fibrous felts made from paper, synthetic fibers or metal yarns.
Applications: Filter weaves made from metal wires are used for separation of solids and clear filtration of liquids, as in the cleaning of fuels or hydraulic liquids, or in water treatment.
Materials: Metal wire cloth weaves are produced predominantly from stainless steel. Other materials such as brass, MONEL-metal, nickel or exotic alloys are also woven.
Single Plain Dutch Weave Wire Cloth
The weft wires are plain woven to lie as close as possible against each other in a linen weave. The combined diameters of the weft wires within a section give about a 6 % increase in strength above the original values, due to the deformation of the wires. Single plain dutch weave filter cloth can also be woven with multilayer warp wires lying in parallel. This improves the micron retention.
Dutch Twilled Weave Wire Cloth
The weft wires in a twilled weave are laid together as closely as possible, whereby one weft wire lies above and the next below the warp wire in each case. The sum of the diameters of the weft wires inside a section gives a value 5 15 % higher than that corresponding to the double value for the section. For the same diameter, dutch twilled weave has twice the number of weft wires as single plain dutch weave cloth in a plain weave. Dutch twilled weave cloth can also be woven with multiple warp wire layers, to increase the micron retention
